I am a reader, writer, and lover of the Weird. I am from Hartford, Connecticut where I earned my bachelor’s degree from Trinity College in Language and Culture Studies. I live in Cambridge, Massachusetts. I hold a PhD in Romance Languages and Literatures Department from Harvard University, where I taught in the Spanish and French sections. My scholarship explores how speculative narratives disrupt conventional frameworks of interpersonal relation and invite us to grapple with difference. My passion is to hunt what haunts me, and to share what I find with others.
Personal Statement
Teaching is at the heart of my academic work, whether at the level of secondary or higher education, or in public contexts. My courses and lectures are designed to engage students with diverse literary traditions while fostering critical thinking, creativity, and thoughtful engagement with the texts and the world around them. Whether exploring Gothic literature, speculative fiction, or medieval narratives, I aim to create an inclusive and dynamic learning environment that inspires curiosity and reflection. Similarly, my research focuses on how speculative and Weird literature incorporates monstrosity and estrangement to challenge traditional ideas of identity, transformation, and otherness. I analyze narratives that unsettle familiar frameworks, offering new ways to think about difference and the limits of understanding.
